Things to do in North Devon 

West Down Farm Cottages are located close to South Molton - the gateway to Exmoor. You also have Barnstaple, Ilfracombe and the stunning North Devon coastline close by. 


You will find plenty of things to do in the area to suit all interests. Below are a few of the most popular things to do in the local area. 

South Molton 
South Molton is a thriving market town with good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. We're happy to recommend places to eat or visit in the area. There is also a selection of leaflets at our cottage that provide information on nearby attractions for guests to have a look at.

Indoor climbing Centre in South Molton this popular activity centre not only caters for indoor climbing for all ages but they also offer other exciting activities such as coasteering, raft building, kayaking and canoeing. 
Across North Devon there are various cycle routes including the Tarka trail which is where the old railway used to run but has been resurfaced for Walking and Cycling. Cycle Hire is available in many places especially near the Tarka Trail. 
There is a pool in South Molton that caters for all ages along with the leisure centre in Barnstaple which houses a larger swimming pool. If you prefer swimming in the sea then there are many beaches throughout North Devon for you to visit. 
There are many beaches in the North Devon area to go surfing including Croyde, Woolacombe, Westward Ho, Saunton, Putsborough.  
You also have various surfing schools and instructors in the local area which you can find via Google.
